On Not Screaming is a lovely little book of pleasure, each poem marking Eloisa Amezcua’s obsession with naming and frustration with being named. Conflict here is wrought by imagery that is exact yet fleeting, and the poems of eros make it clear that desire is always about what we don’t have. This is a brilliant series of poems.
