Mary Kay Zuravleff has published three novels with Farrar, Straus & Giroux. Her most recent, Man Alive!, was named a Washington Post Notable Book of the Year. She is also the author of The Bowl Is Already Broken, which the New York Times praised as “a tart, affectionate satire of the museum world’s bickering and scheming,” and The Frequency of Souls, which the Chicago Tribune deemed “a beguiling and wildly inventive first novel.” Honors for her work include the American Academy’s Rosenthal Award, the James Jones First Novel Award, and seven Individual Artist Fellowships from the DC Commission on the Arts. She served on the board of the PEN/Faulkner Foundation, is founder of NoveltyDC, and is a cofounder of DC Women Writers. She has taught graduate fiction writing at Johns Hopkins, American, and George Mason Universities and been a visiting writer at many writing programs.
