SUMARR is the personification of summer in Norse mythology! Sumarr Reading Series is thus a summer happening. This series started in 2010, is annual, and takes place on Sundays at Pop-Hop Books. Each event includes four readers and a live musical performance.
Previous readers include: Robin Coste Lewis, Ali Liebegott, Brandon Som, Ashley Farmer, Hannah Sanghee Park, Wendy C. Ortiz, Jen Hofer, Ashaki Jackson, Collier Nogues, Douglas Kearney, Dexter L. Booth, Hannah Gamble, Sandra Doller, Ryan Ridge, and many others.
Projection is possible for those with graphic novels/comics/etc.
I hope especially to provide a space for writers of all heritage(s), sexualities, and/or abilities to share their work with the Los Angeles literary community.
